Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 April 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TrackGeld's website, web application, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. What TrackGeld Does
TrackGeld is a personal finance management platform. It provides:
- Transaction tracking: Log, import, search, and categorise income and expenses.
- Budgets: Set category-level spending limits, track usage in real time, and receive alerts when nearing or exceeding limits.
- Savings goals: Define financial goals with target amounts and deadlines, and track progress over time.
- Assets: Record and monitor the estimated value of owned assets (property, investments, vehicles, etc.).
- Reports: Visualise spending trends, income vs. expenditure, category breakdowns, and net-worth changes.
- AI insights: Automated transaction categorisation and personalised spending summaries powered by large language models.
- Iron Mode: An optional opt-in discipline feature that restricts or flags spending exceeding your budget rules.
- Telegram bot: An optional integration for receiving daily summaries, budget alerts, and conversational financial coaching via Telegram.
- Bank connection (coming soon): Automatic transaction import via a regulated open-banking provider. This feature is not yet available and will be subject to additional terms at launch.
Features may be added, modified, or discontinued at our discretion. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes where practicable.
2. How the System Works
TrackGeld is built on a Next.js web application backed by Supabase (PostgreSQL) for data storage and authentication. Here is a plain-language description of the data flow:
- You sign up with an email and password. Supabase Auth creates your account and issues a secure session token.
- You enter or import transactions. Each transaction is stored in a database row belonging exclusively to your user ID. Row-Level Security (RLS) policies in Supabase ensure no other user's queries can access your rows.
- AI categorisation. When a transaction lacks a category, our server sends anonymised transaction data (description, amount, date) to an AI API. The response (a suggested category) is stored and displayed back to you. Your email, name, or account number is never included in these requests.
- Reports and dashboards are computed server-side from your stored data and sent to your browser over HTTPS.
- Iron Mode runs server-side rules against your budget configuration each time a new transaction is recorded. If a limit is exceeded, an alert is stored and optionally forwarded to the Telegram bot.
- Telegram bot communicates via the Telegram Bot API over encrypted webhooks. Messages are processed server-side and replied to in real time; they are not stored beyond active context windows.
- Bank connection (future). An open-banking provider will authenticate you directly (OAuth 2.0). TrackGeld receives only a token representing read-only access to transaction and balance data; your banking credentials are never transmitted to us.
3. Eligibility & Account Security
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the Services.
- You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. You must not share your password.
- Notify us immediately at customersupport@trackgeld.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or present a security risk.
4. Your Content & Data Ownership
You retain full ownership of the financial data you enter into TrackGeld. By using the Services, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you. This licence ends when you delete your account.
You may export your data in JSON or CSV format at any time from your account settings. You may request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing customersupport@trackgeld.com. Deletion is processed within 30 days.
5. Not Financial, Legal, or Tax Advice
TrackGeld is a financial organisation tool, not a licensed financial adviser, investment broker, accountant, or legal professional. Nothing within the Services — including AI-generated insights, budget recommendations, spending analyses, or Iron Mode alerts — constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.
You are solely responsible for all financial decisions you make. TrackGeld does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data, categorisation, or insight. Always consult a qualified professional before making significant financial decisions.
6. Iron Mode
Iron Mode is a voluntary, opt-in spending discipline feature. When activated, the system applies your self-defined budget rules to flag or restrict transactions. You may deactivate Iron Mode at any time from your dashboard.
Iron Mode operates on data you provide and rules you configure. TrackGeld is not liable for any financial outcome arising from Iron Mode alerts, restrictions, or the absence thereof. The feature is provided for self-accountability purposes only.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable regulations.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services, our infrastructure, other user accounts, or third-party systems.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services.
- Introduce viruses, malware, bots, scrapers, or any code that could harm the Services or other users.
- Use the Services to track the finances of another individual without their explicit written consent.
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Services without authorisation.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services.
- Circumvent rate limits, security controls, or data access restrictions.
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate access for violations of this section without prior notice.
8. Third-Party Services & Integrations
TrackGeld integrates with third-party services (Supabase, Telegram, AI providers, and future open-banking providers). These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. TrackGeld is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, or compliance of third-party services.
When connecting to third-party services through TrackGeld, you also accept their applicable terms. We will provide links to relevant third-party policies at the point of integration.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, software code, algorithms, design systems, and documentation forming part of the Services are the property of TrackGeld or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services for personal, non-commercial finance tracking. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary materials.
10. Privacy
Your use of the Services is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Services, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY OF FINANCIAL DATA, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from malware, or that defects will be corrected. We are not responsible for errors in transaction data imported from third-party sources.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TRACKGELD AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, FINANCIAL SAVINGS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES.
OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TRACKGELD IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED EUROS (€100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, IN WHICH CASE THESE LIMITS APPLY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TrackGeld and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Services; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days, after which all personal and financial data is permanently removed.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without prior notice if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will continue to apply.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction designated by the operator of your TrackGeld deployment, excluding conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence will also apply and may give you additional rights.
We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any dispute amicably. If we cannot reach a resolution, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
